Toyota Unveils the Corolla Cross Nasu Edition Off-Road Concept

Toyota recently announced that it will unveil the Nasu Edition off-road concept vehicle, based on the 2026 US-spec Toyota Corolla Cross, at the 2025 SEMA Show. Featuring precision engineering and rugged modifications inspired by Mount Nasu in Japan, the concept vehicle showcases a love of the outdoors and an active lifestyle.

The Nasu Edition was designed and built by Toyota's Service Parts and Accessories Development (SPAD) team, which develops accessories that combine functionality and style. The concept vehicle retains the efficient hybrid powertrain of the US-spec 2026 Corolla Cross, combining a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with three electric motors for a combined 196 horsepower.

To enhance off-road capabilities, the all-wheel drive system puts power to the ground via custom Toyota truck-style aluminum wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country A/T III all-terrain tires. To increase the concept car's ground clearance and maneuverability, a custom suspension lift was also installed.

Exterior and accessory upgrades further enhance the Nasu Edition's adventurous spirit. A unique body kit and modified hood scoop give the car a more aggressive and rugged appearance. A striking custom purple exterior wrap references the Japanese word "nasu," meaning "eggplant." Off-road features like a cargo basket and a modified articulated roof rack ensure it's fully prepared for adventure.
